Pianist Steve T. Hunter at St. Barnabas

The Meaning of Christmas
“Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?”
Just as Linus reminds Charlie Brown in A Charlie Brown Christmas, the true meaning of Christmas was front and center. Rev. Dr. David L. Madsen, Lead Pastor of St. Barnabas, opened the event with a warm welcome, inviting the community to reflect on the joy and hope of the season.
Steve T. Hunter performed the cherished soundtrack with heartfelt precision, sharing fascinating insights about the creation of the original CBS-TV special. Between songs, he wove in storytelling and invited moments of reflection. Fr. Michael Plekon also shared a meaningful message about the holiday, resonating deeply with all in attendance.
A Holiday Tradition for Borrego Springs
The afternoon ended with the community joining voices to sing a classic Christmas carol, filling the church with warmth and unity.
A Charlie Brown Christmas at St. Barnabas continues to be a highlight of the holiday season in Borrego Springs, bringing families and friends together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas through music and fellowship.
Mark your calendars for next December to be part of this cherished tradition. If you loved Steve T. Hunter’s performance, you can also catch him at The Palms at Indian Head, where he creates a beautiful ambiance with his music throughout the year.
